| | | 1. Hess's Mill Bridge Marker | | | Inscription. This two-arch bridge was built by John Weaver in 1832. It is unique in that one arch is so much larger than the other. The smaller arch may have accommodated the millrace which was located on that side of the Little Antietam and served the mill that was erected by Jacob Hess in 1754. Erected by Washington County Historical Advisory Committee. Marker series. This marker is included in the Maryland, Washington County Historical Advisory Committee marker series. Location. 39° 29.181′ N, 77° 42.072′ W. Marker is in Keedysville, Maryland, in Washington County. Marker is on Coffman Farm Road, on the right when traveling west. Click for map.
