| | | 1. Carlisle Iron Works Marker | | | Inscription. Founded about 1762 by John Rigbie and Co. Operated after 1781 by Michael Ege, noted ironmaster of the period. Ruins of the charcoal furnace still stand. Erected by Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. Location. 40° 9.039′ N, 77° 7.458′ W. Marker is in Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania, in Cumberland County. Marker is at the intersection of E. 1st Street (Pennsylvania Route 174) and S.
