1. Saint Augustine Catholic Church Marker
Inscription. On Trinity Sunday, June 11, 1876 the first Black Catholic Church in Washington District of Columbia was dedicated under the patronage of Saint Augustine, Bishop of Hippo in Africa. Saint Augustine Church stood on this site until 1947. The present church is located at Fifteenth and V Streets, Northwest.
