Inscription. Sherman's Army, on its march from Savannah, entered Goldsboro, its chief North Carolina objective, Mar. 21, 1865.
 
Erected 1940 by State Historical Commission. (Marker Number F 11.)
 
Location. 35° 23.166′ N, 77° 59.802′ W. Marker is in Goldsboro, North Carolina, in Wayne County. Marker is at the intersection of West Ash Street (Business U.S. 70) and North James Street, on the right when traveling west on West Ash Street. Click for map.
