1. John Fitch Steamboat Dock Marker
Inscription. This commemorates the genius, patience and perseverance of Lieutenant John Fitch, inventor of the first steamboat. It made successful trips between Philadelphia and Trenton in 1790 and docked near this site.
 
Erected 1921 by Commissioners of Trenton. Relocated to this site, Spring 1998.
