Inscription. Originally part of the Choptank Indian Reservation laid out for them in 1669. Cambridge was made a port of entry by the Assembly in 1684. It is one of the few towns authorized at that early date that has survived.
Erected by State Roads Commmission.
Location. 38° 34.265′ N, 76° 3.845′ W. Marker is in Cambridge, Maryland, in Dorchester County. Marker is on Rose Hill Place north of Radiance Drive, on the right when traveling north. Click for map. Marker is in the parking lot of the Dorchester County Visitor Center in Sailwinds Park, which can be seen when entering Cambridge from the Choptank River bridge (US 50).
