| | | 1. Palisade Fort Marker | | | Inscription. The only French and Indian War Fort in the Southeast reconstructed on its original site. This five-sided palisade was built around the central part of the community for protection from Indian aggression. A second fort was located at the Mill Site on Mill Creek. Fortunately, the Indians never attacked Bethabara. Location. 36° 9.33′ N, 80° 17.86′ W. Marker is in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, in Forsyth County.
