This garden was constructed as a retreat by Colonel Thaddeus Kosciuszko, Polish patriot, fortifications engineer for the Continental Army 1776-1783, during his tour of duty for the purpose of constructing fortifications at West Point. Location. 41° 23.503′ N, 73° 57.217′ W. Marker is in West Point, New York, in Orange County. Marker can be reached from Cullum Road, on the right when traveling north. Click for map.
