1. The First Japanese Cherry Trees Marker

Inscription. The first Japanese Cherry Trees, presented to the City of Washington as a gesture of friendship and good will by the City of Tokyo, were planted on this site, March 27, 1912.

Erected 1950 by National Capital Sesquicentennial Commission.

Location. 38° 53.21′ N, 77° 2.476′ W. Marker is in The Tidal Basin, District of Columbia, in Washington.
