1. Livermore and Chester Store Marker
 
Inscription. Site of Livermore and Chester Store, first business establishment in Bakersfield, an adobe structure built in 1865. Purchased by H. H. Fish in 1886. Destroyed in the fire of 1889. Rebuilt in 1890.
 
Erected 1965 by Kern County Historical Society.
 
Location. 35° 22.565′ N, 119° 1.143′ W. Marker is in Bakersfield, California, in Kern County. Marker is at the intersection of Chester Avenue and 19th Street, on the right when traveling west on Chester Avenue. Click for map.
