| | | 1. New York Hotel Marker | | | Inscription. Built in 1854 as a single story frame building, it burned in the town fire of 1859 and rebuilt as a brick two-story. It was gutted in the big fire of 1863 and rebuilt. The hotel was known as the official stage stop until after the turn of the century. In 1931 the entire brick front was remodeled, arches placed and two rooms added over the saloon. Erected 1994 by E Clampus Vitus, Trinitarianus Chapter 62. Marker series.
