1. 106th Inf Division Marker
 
Inscription. Near this site on 15 March 1943 the 106th Infantry Division was officially activated and became known as the "Golden Lion Division." Although badly mauled in the "Battle of the Bulge," the division stubbornly continued to fight on. The 106th saw action in the Ardennes, the Rhineland, and Central Europe.
 
Erected 1974 by 106th Infantry Division Association. (Marker Number 40-57.)
 
Location. 34° 1.263′ N, 80° 56.289′ W. Marker is in Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina, in Richland County. Marker is on Jackson Blvd. near Kelly Street, on the left when traveling south. Click for map. Marker is in this post office area: Columbia SC 29207, United States of America.
