Inscription. At 0755, 7 December 1941,
near this spot at Berth Fox 7
The USS Arizona was hit by one torpedo and approximately seven bombs. One bomb went down the stack and another penetrated the black powder magazines. The sunken ship remains the tomb of nine hundred men. The USS Vestal was moored alongside the Arizona but got underway and was beached on Aiea Shoal after having been struck by two fifteen inch armor-piercing projectile type bombs.

Location. 21° 21.946′ N, 157° 57.061′ W. Marker is in Honolulu, Hawaii, in Honolulu County. Marker is on Langley Avenue, on the right when traveling north. Click for map. The marker is located on Ford Island, part of the Pearl Harbor Naval Base. Due to heightened security, access to the base is restricted with exception to visiting, with prior permission, the USS Arizona Memorial, the USS Utah Memorial and the battleship, USS Missouri. Marker is in this post office area: Honolulu HI 96818, United States of America.

1. U.S.S. Arizona marker
This is one of several markers scattered around the base & surrounding area, memorializing not only the battleships attacked on Dec 7th, but also other ships such as the Ward, Monaghan, etc. They are all the same types of plaques, most mounted on white pedestals like Arizona, a few not. Inscription reads: "To the memory of the gallant men here entombed and their shipmates who gave their lives in action on December 7, 1941 on the USS Arizona." This memorial was installed and rededicated by AMVETS April 4, 1984.
