Captions (English / Turkish): 1. The Temple of Hadrian during excavations / Kazi calişmalari sirasinda Hadrianus Tapinaǧi; 2. Detail of the frieze with the foundation myth of the city of Ephesos / Ephesos kentinin kuruluş efsanesine dair frizden delay; 3. Reconstruction of the Temple of Hadrian / Hadrianus Tapinaǧi'nin rekonstrüksiyonu.
Inscription. English:
P. Vedius Antoninus Sabinus donated the small, temple-like monument which, according to a building inscription, honoured Emperor Hadrian (A.D. 117-138).
The colonnade in front of the cella supports a so-called Syrian gable. The reliefs over the door lintel depicting the Ephesian foundation myth belong to a late antique rebuilding. Around A.D. 300 statues of the emperors Diocletian, Constantius, Maximianus and later Theodosius I were erected, of which inscribed bases are preserved.
