1. Kennedy & Glenn's Bank Marker
Inscription. This private bank was founded in a brick building on the west side of the Public Square in April 1854, and shortly thereafter incorporated as the Northern Bank of Tennessee. During the War Between the States its funds and securities were smuggled to England for safekeeping; they were returned at the war's end.
