Inscription. Photojournalist and Pulitzer Prize winner for the 1968 image Saigon Execution, which was influential in swaying public opinion against the Vietnam War. Adams began his career as a photographer for his high school yearbook and the local newspaper. After relocating to New York, his photographs were published in numerous national newspapers and magazines. He received over 500 awards for his work and was one of the most published photographers of his time.

Nguyễn Ngọc Loan executes Viet Cong Captain Nguyễn Văn Lém: February 1, 1968. This Associated Press photograph, "General Nguyen Ngoc Loan executing a Viet Cong prisoner in Saigon," won a 1969 Pulitzer Prize for its photographer Eddie Adams. Film also exists of this event, but owing to the more graphic nature of the film, the photograph is more widely known.
