1. Mount Airy Marker
Inscription. 17th century hunting lodge of the Lords Baltimore, 9200 acres acquired in 1751 by the honorable Benedict Calvert, member of the council, son of Charles, Fifth Lord Baltimore. Here, with George Washington present, February 4, 1774, Benedict's daughter "Nelly" married John Parke Custis, son of Martha Washington. Birthplace of George Washington Parke Custis, their son, who married Marry Lee Fitzhugh and built "Arlington" on the Potomac.

Son of Charles Calvert, Fifth Lord Baltimore, Collector of His Majesty's Customs for the District of Patuxent. Married Elizabeth, the only surviving daughter of Hon. Charles Calvert, Governor of Maryland.
