Inscription. Home of Dr. Gustavus Richard Brown who lies buried here. He was a close friend of George Washington and was one of the physicians in attendance at his death.
 
Erected by State Roads Commission.
 
Location. 38° 31.32′ N, 77° 1.702′ W. Marker is in Port Tobacco, Maryland, in Charles County.
