The monument displays the Greek cross of the 62nd New York at the top.

The regiment participated with the Army of
the Potomac in all its campaigns, as well as in
Sheridan's Campaign in the Shenandoah Valley, 1864.

(Back, Caption on Relief):
On the site of this monument the regiment under command of Lieut. Col. T.B. Hamilton charged the enemy and recaptured two guns.
 
Erected 1888 by State of New York.
 
Location. 39° 47.831′ N, 77° 14.244′ W. Marker is near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, in Adams County. Marker is on Crawford Avenue (Driveway to John Weikert Farm), on the right when traveling north.
