1. The San Andreas Fault Marker
Inscription. The San Andreas Fault is the largest earthquake fault in North America. It passes through this point and alongside the tip of the small peninsula straight ahead.

In this area, during the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, the west side of the fault moved nine feet northwestward.
 
Erected 1991 by County of San Mateo Parks and Recreation Division, City and County of San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, San Francisco Water Department.
