1. Shackletown Marker
Inscription. This was once part of the area known as Kennedys, but when the Lehigh Valley Railroad came through in the 1850's, a foundry was built at the foot of Silver Hill to cast the shackle bolts for the coupling-links that were used to fasten the railway cars together.
 
Erected by Pohatcong Township Historic Preservation Commission.
 
Location. 40° 38.896′ N, 75° 7.629′ W. Marker is in Kennedys, New Jersey, in Warren County. Marker is at the intersection of Warren Glen - Bloomsbury Road and Shackletown Road, on the right when traveling north on Warren Glen - Bloomsbury Road. Click for map.
