1. The Brick Academy Marker
Inscription. This building was erected in 1809 by Rev. Robert Finley to house a classical school founded by him in 1797. Statesmen, professional men, and business leaders were among its graduates. The academy served as a public school from 1853 to 1903. Owned by A.O.U.W. 1904-25 Jr. O.U.A.M. 1925-48. Became Township Hall 1924. Purchased by Township of Bernards 1948.
 
Erected 1950 by Basking Ridge Historical Society.
 
Location. 40° 42.395′ N, 74° 33′ W. Marker is in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, in Somerset County. Marker is on Oak Street, on the right when traveling west. Click for map. Marker is in this post office area: Basking Ridge NJ 07920, United States of America.
