1. Dahlgren's Raid Marker
Inscription. Here Colonel Ulric Dahlgren, Union cavalryman, coming from the north, turned east. Dahlgren, who acted in concert with Kilpatrick, left Stevensburg, Culpeper County, on February 28, 1864, and moved toward the James River, tearing up the Virginia Central Railroad near Frederick's Hall. He went on toward Richmond, burning mills and barns.
 
Erected 1931 by Conservation & Development Commission. (Marker Number SA 14.)
 
Location. 37° 37.284′ N, 77° 46.134′ W. Marker is near Goochland, Virginia, in Goochland County. Marker is at the intersection of River Road West (Virginia Route 6) and Dover Road, on the right when traveling west on River Road West. Click for map.
