Born Mooresville; LLB IU Law School; Morgan County Prosecuting Attorney and lawyer; Resided Martinsville.

WW II Colonel Armoured Group Pacific Theatre: Awarded Silver Star. Served Military Government Korea 1945-46; Organized tank battalion Indiana National Guard.

U.S. Congress 1951-75. Ranking Minority Member House Armed Services Committee: Author “Russian Frontiers”; 33 degree Mason.
