1. Fourth Ward School Marker
 
Inscription. Centennial monument to education and National treasure. Built in the second Empire Style Architecture with state of the art amenities to house 1000 students. Instructed using progressive curriculum and teaching practices. The building represents the importance of public education to the early miners and in the heritage of the American West.
 
Erected 2004 by Friends of the Comstock. (Marker Number 4.)
 
Location. 39° 18.188′ N, 119° 39.141′ W. Marker is in Virginia City, Nevada, in Storey County. Marker is on South C Street (Nevada Route 341) near B Street, on the right when traveling north.
