1. Zane Grey Marker
Inscription. The prolific author of western novels lived on this property, 1905-1918. Among his books written here was the famed “Riders of the Purple Sage” (1912). He had a lifelong love for this area, and his remains now rest within view of the house.
 
Erected 1989 by Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
 
Location. 41° 29.147′ N, 74° 59.23′ W. Marker is in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania, in Pike County. Marker is on Lackawaxen Scenic Drive, on the left when traveling west. Click for map. The marker is located in front of the Zane Grey Museum. Marker is in this post office area: Lackawaxen PA 18435, United States of America.
