1. Second Commercial Electric Railroad Locomotive Marker
Inscription. The truck of the second commercial electric railroad locomotive, built by Tho’s. A. Edison and operated with freight and passenger cars over three miles of railroad at Menlo Park, N.J. in 1882.
 
Location. 40° 47.032′ N, 74° 14.054′ W. Marker is in West Orange, New Jersey, in Essex County. Marker is at the intersection of Main Street and Lakeside Avenue, on the right when traveling north on Main Street. Click for map. Marker is to the right of the main gate at the Laboratory Complex of Thomas Edison National Historical Park. Marker is in this post office area: West Orange NJ 07052, United States of America.
