1. Salem Methodist Campground Marker
Inscription. Begun in 1826, the Salem Methodist Campground moved to this site in 1842. Meeting in October of each year, except 1863 & 1864, it is the oldest regularly held Methodist camp meeting in Mississippi.
 
Erected 1976 by Mississippi Department of Archives and History.
 
Location. 30° 43.978′ N, 88° 36.424′ W. Marker is in Lucedale, Mississippi, in Jackson County. Marker is on Salem Campground Road, on the right when traveling north. Click for map. Marker is in this post office area: Lucedale MS 39452, United States of America.
