Inscription. Consecrated in 1875 as first Episcopal church for colored people in North Carolina. Served by Bishop Atkinson. It is located 3 blocks east.
 
Erected 1976 by Division of Archives and History. (Marker Number D-78.)
 
Location. 34° 14.334′ N, 77° 56.78′ W. Marker is in Wilington, North Carolina, in New Hanover County. Marker is at the intersection of North 3rd Street (U.S. 74) and Grace Street, on the right when traveling north on North 3rd Street. Click for map.
