| | | 1. Edward Marshall Marker | | | Inscription. Measurer of the notorious Walking Purchase, 1737, lived in this area, 1755-1759. In the many Indian raids of this time, his wife and his oldest son were killed, 1757, suposedly in revenge. Later he returned to Bucks County. Erected 1948 by Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. Location. 40° 55.269′ N, 75° 5.747′ W. Marker is in Portland, Pennsylvania, in Northampton County. Marker is at the intersection of Delaware Drive (Pennsylvania Route 611) and Hester Street, on the left when traveling north on Delaware Drive. Click for map.
