Inscription. National Guard camp, 1911 - 1918; later site of U.S. Navy base, and first U.S. Coast Guard air station, 1920 - 1921.
 
Erected 1988 by Division of Archives and History. (Marker Number C 63.)
 
Location. 34° 43.456′ N, 76° 45.132′ W. Marker is in Morehead City, North Carolina, in Carteret County. Marker is at the intersection of Arendell Street (U.S. 70) and North 35th Street, on the right when traveling east on Arendell Street. Click for map. Located in front of the Carteret Community College. Marker is in this post office area: Morehead City NC 28557, United States of America.
