1. Powerhouse Marker
Inscription. Completed in 1910, this powerhouse replaced the old generators inside Battery Jasper which had been in operation since 1899. Two 25 kilowatt gasoline actuated generators within this building supplied power for the electric lights, ammunition hoists and other electric needs of Battery Jasper.
 
Location. 32° 45.524′ N, 79° 51.358′ W. Marker is in Sullivans Island, South Carolina, in Charleston County. Marker is on Poe Avenue, on the right when traveling east. Click for map. Located at stop nine of the tour of Fort Moultrie. Marker is in this post office area: Sullivans Island SC 29482, United States of America.
