1. Coalburg Marker
Inscription. Here was the home of W.H. Edwards, naturalist and explorer, who led an important expedition to the Amazon in 1846 and was one of the chief authorities on butterflies and moths. He was a descendant of renowned Jonathan Edwards.
 
Erected 1973 by West Virginia Department of Archives and History.
 
Location. 38° 12.531′ N, 81° 27.445′ W. Marker is in East Bank, West Virginia, in Kanawha County. Marker is on 3rd Avenue (West Virginia Route 61) 0.1 miles south of 1st Avenue, on the right when traveling north. Click for map.
