With Geary's Division near Cravens' House from 3 until 6.30 P.M. November 24th. Moved to Missionary Ridge via Rossville on the morning of November 25th, 1863.

Erected 1899 by State of Illinois. (Marker Number MT-172.)
 
Location. 35° 0.87′ N, 85° 20.508′ W. Marker is near Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, in Hamilton County. Marker is on Shingle Road 0.2 miles north of Military Road, on the left when traveling north. Click for map. Marker is located on the grounds of the Cravens' House, a unit of the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park. Follow the signs from the Lookout Mountain Scenic Highway (TN 148) to reach the area. Marker is in this post office area: Lookout Mountain TN 37350, United States of America.

According to the description provided by the National Park Service, the monument is, “7'6" x 4'4" x 4'6" high rock-faced granite monument consisting of rectangular granite block with an inscribed polished front on rectangular base. The tops of both pieces are beveled. Marks unit's position during Battle of Lookout Mountain.”
