12th Iowa Infantry,
Tuttle's (1st) Brig., W.H.L.Wallace's (2d) Div.,
Army of the Tennessee.
This regiment, facing by rear rank, was engaged here about 5 p.m. April 6, 1862. After a short engagement the enemy withdrew and this regiment continued its retreat to 41st Ill. camp.
 
Erected by Shiloh National Military Park Commission. (Marker Number 67.)
 
Location. 35° 8.222′ N, 88° 20.221′ W. Marker is in Shiloh, Tennessee, in Hardin County. Marker is on Eastern Corinth Road 0.2 miles south of Corinth-Pittsburg Road, on the right when traveling north. Click for map. Located in Shiloh National Military Park.
