U.S.
Army of the Tennessee, 14th Illinois, 25th Indiana, Veatch's (2d) Brigade, Hurlbut's (4th) Division.
These regiments, in order as above, were engaged here at about 5 P.M. April 6, 1862. They retired to a position near the siege guns.
 
Erected by Shiloh National Military Park Commission. (Marker Number 298.)
 
Location. 35° 8.845′ N, 88° 20.008′ W. Marker is in Shiloh, Tennessee, in Hardin County. Marker is on Hamburg-Savannah Road 0.1 miles north of Cavalry Road, on the left when traveling north.
