Hare's (1st) Brig., McClernand's (1st) Div.,
Army of the Tennessee.

This regiment reformed here at 11.30 A.M. April 6, 1862 and advanced, fighting, to within 50 yards of its first position. It was then driven back slowly to this place where it was engaged until 2:30 P.M. when it retired to siege guns.
 
Erected by Shiloh National Military Park Commission. (Marker Number 2.)
 
Location. 35° 8.76′ N, 88° 20.82′ W. Marker is near Shiloh, Tennessee, in Hardin County. Marker is at the intersection of Cavalry Road and Sherman Road, on the left when traveling west on Cavalry Road. Click for map. 120 yards ESE of intersection in Jones Field, in Shiloh National Military Park. Marker is in this post office area: Shiloh TN 38376, United States of America.
