At about 4.30 P.M. April 6, 1862, the 9th Illinois was engaged here assisting in repelling attack by Pond's Brigade.

Location. 35° 8.988′ N, 88° 20.1′ W. Marker is near Shiloh, Tennessee, in Hardin County. Marker is on Hamburg-Savannah Road 0.4 miles south of State Highway 22, on the right when traveling south.
