This Memorial was contributed by the men and women who built Hoover Dam to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its dedication
September 30, 1985

The Hard Hat
Prominent among the project's many contributions to the construction industry is the hard hat, which made its debut as mandatory equipment at Hoover Dam, where "safety first" was the order of the day.
