Welker's Battery,
"H", 1st Mo. Lt. Art., W.H.L. Wallace's (2d) Div.,
Army of the Tennessee.
This battery, of two 10 pdr. and two 20 pdr. Parrott guns, was placed in position here by Col. Jas. B. McPherson, at about 4 P.M. April 6, 1862. It was engaged until about 5 P.M. when it retired to the right of the siege guns.
 
Erected by Shiloh National Battlefield Commission. (Marker Number 171.)
 
Location. 35° 8.417′ N, 88° 19.917′ W. Marker is near Shiloh, Tennessee, in Hardin County.
