Sweeny's (3d) Brig., W.H.L. Wallace's (2d) Div.,
Army of the Tennessee.

This regiment was in reserve here from 9 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. April 6, 1862. It then moved by right flank down Tilghman Creek and engaged Wharton's Cavalry which was moving by flank up the creek. It was next engaged at 15th Ill. camp.
 
Erected by Shiloh National Military Park Commission. (Marker Number 96.)
 
Location. 35° 8.35′ N, 88° 20.267′ W. Marker is near Shiloh, Tennessee, in Hardin County. Marker can be reached from Corinth Road ¼ mile east of Eastern Corinth Road, on the right when traveling east. Click for map. 150 yards north of road on a path along Tilghman Branch. Marker is in this post office area: Shiloh TN 38376, United States of America.
