The hill to the west was a strong point in the system of permanent Federal defenses, started in 1862, which extended to the river on both sides of the town. Artillery was emplaced here from time to time. Erected by Tennessee Historical Commission. (Marker Number N1 3.) Location. 36° 8.931′ N, 86° 48.834′ W. Marker is in Nashville, Tennessee, in Davidson County. Marker can be reached from the intersection of 27th Avenue North and Parthenon Avenue, on the right when traveling north. Click for map.
