First position in line of battle April 6, 1862, was 3/4 mile s.w., near McClernand's headquarters.
 
Erected by Shiloh National Military Park Commission. (Marker Number A46.)
 
Location. 35° 8.757′ N, 88° 20.224′ W. Marker is in Shiloh, Tennessee, in Hardin County. Marker is on Cavalry Road ¼ mile west of Hamburg-Savannah Road, on the left when traveling west.
