1. Site of Masonic Hall Marker
Inscription. Versailles Lodge No. 7 contracted with county, added to a brick building, occupied the second floor. Confederate raiders July 12, 1863 took officers’ jewels made from silver franc pieces. General Morgan, a Freemason, ordered property returned.
 
Erected 1966 by The Grand Lodge F. & A. M. of Indiana.
 
Location. 39° 4.31′ N, 85° 15.127′ W. Marker is in Versailles, Indiana, in Ripley County. Marker is at the intersection of North Washington Street and Tyson Street, on the right when traveling north on North Washington Street. Click for map.
