1. Leap-The-Dips Roller Coaster Marker
Inscription. Built here in 1902 by E. Joy Morris of Philadelphia, it was among some 250 side-friction figure eight roller coasters in North America. It became the last known ride of this type and the world's oldest known operating roller coaster. A National Historic Landmark.
 
Erected 2000 by Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
 
Location. 40° 28.244′ N, 78° 23.618′ W. Marker is near Altoona, Pennsylvania, in Blair County. Marker can be reached from Park Avenue. Click for map. Located at entrance gate to Lakemont Park. Marker is in this post office area: Altoona PA 16602, United States of America.
