Academic, agricultural, vocational training for Indian youth from over U.S. Established by Act of Cong. 1882. Jasper M. Hadley 1st Superintendent. Handsome buildings of stone erected, and first pupils - Kiowa, Comanche children - entered Jan. 1884. First graduating class was in 1894. Erected 1995 by Oklahoma Historical Society. (Marker Number 32.) Location. 36° 59.901′ N, 97° 2.746′ W. Marker is near Chilocco Indian School, Oklahoma, in Kay County. Marker is at the intersection of U.S. 77 and State Line Road, on the right when traveling south on U.S. 77. Click for map.
