Ruth and Glen Hunter took over in 1938; Howard “Hodgie” Wetzel and a friend at Hodgie’s at the Boardwalk in 1981; Craig Moorhead and daughter Allison (left) named their new business Surf City Grill in 2004.
Inscription. The restaurant now called Surf City Grill has been known by other names and owned by several families over the years. In spite of these changes, it remains a favorite for satisfying the appetites of visitors, ravenous after a day at the Boardwalk.
