1. Alvarado Adobe Marker
Inscription. Built in the 1830ís by Juan Bautista Alvarado, first Monterey-born governor of California. Originally a three room adobe with a tule roof.
 
Erected by Monterey History & Art Association.

2. Alvarado Adobe Marker
 Alvarado Adobe. This adobe was built in the 1830s by Don Juan Bautista Alvarado, the first Monterey-born Governor of California. A direct descendent of Captain Cortez, he was the son of Don Jose Francisco Alvarado and Josefa Vallejo. His home is one of the oldest structures in Monterey.
