1. Old House Plantation Marker
Inscription. Settled ca. 1740 by Daniel Heyward who built Tidal Mill, Textile Factory and export-import business on these grounds before his death in 1777. Original 500 acres King's Grant grew to 16,000 acres, all destroyed by fire ca. 1865
 
Location. 32° 27.413′ N, 80° 53.828′ W. Marker is in Grahamville, South Carolina, in Jasper County. Marker is on T. Heyward Tomb Driveway (Old State Highway 462), on the right when traveling east. Click for map. Driveway approximately 100 yards, south of the intersection of Highway 336 on Highway 462 a few miles from Ridgeland, South Carolina. Marker is in this post office area: Ridgeland SC 29936, United States of America.
