1. Jesse William Lazear Marker
Inscription. In Memory of Jesse William Lazear 1868-1900, Washington and Jefferson College 1888. Physician and Scientist, he researched the cause of Yellow Fever with the U.S. Army Medical Commission, led by Walter Reed, in Cuba. Volunteering as an experimental subject at the sacrifice of his own life, Dr. Lazear was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for heroism. A member of the Pennsylvania Alpha Chapter of Phi Kappa Psi, Dr. Lazear nobly exemplified the fraternity's eternal principles and highest ideals.
 
Erected 2002 by The Executive Council of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.
